In 1973, FCA hired Steve Robinson to serve as the initial Area Director for Middle Tennessee. For the next 25 years, all of Middle Tennessee was covered out of a Nashville Office. In 1998, the first Middle Tennessee satellite office was opened in Cookeville to serve the Upper Cumberland Area. Over the next few years, satellite offices were opened in Columbia, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and Hendersonville. Wilson County continued to be the ministry of the staff in Nashville.
Alan Herd first served in Wilson County for several years. In 2007, FCA hired Connie Mitchell as a part-time Area Representative. FCA's influence in the county grew exponentially over the next few years which made it almost impossible for a part-time staff person to cover. When Connie decided to leave FCA staff in 2014, a decision was made by the new Nashville FCA Director, Mark Wracher, to create a satellite office in Wilson County with a full-time Area Director. Tom Boyd was chosen as the first Wilson County FCA Board Chairman after many years of serving on the Middle Tennessee FCA Board. Mark and Tom went to work on forming the county's first FCA Leadership Board.
In November 2014, Mt. Juliet native Tim Bryant was hired to be the first Wilson County FCA Area Director. The first Fundraising Banquet was held later that month at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon and was a huge success. Today, FCA is continuing to grow and expand its influence and ministry in Wilson County. There are close to 1,700 students and coaches served each week through Huddles at 25 schools in the area. This school year, 2021-2022, we've had 105 students accept Christ as their Savior.
